This Privacy Policy describes how Lapix ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use our iOS application.
Photos: When you use the identification feature, the photo you take or select is sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis. We do not store your photos on our servers.
Scan history: Your scan history (identified stones, names, dates) is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you use iCloud backup.
Apple Sign In (optional): If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive only the information Apple provides (a unique user ID). This is used solely to preserve your data if you reinstall the app. We do not collect your name or email address through this feature.
Google Gemini API: Photos are sent to Google's Gemini API for rock and mineral identification. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat (Premium subscriptions): If you purchase a premium subscription, RevenueCat processes your transaction. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Google AdMob (Free tier): Free users may see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad personalization. You can opt out via your device's privacy settings. Google's privacy policy applies.
All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your scan history at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Lapix is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
